Hello! I am Amy and I live in Oliphant! I grew up spending summers up north and fishing and catching frogs when I was little with my brother. Over the years, I have continued to fish with my Dad. We get out most summers in Colpoys Bay in Wiarton or into Georgian Bay out of Owen Sound.
I love winters and snowmobiling. It’s my favourite time of year. Enjoying a winter sport makes the season go by quicker! There is never enough snow for me! And it never stays long enough.
Archery was something I was interested in after working at a Sportsman Show in Toronto. It really interested me but I was nervous to start. And at that same show, I met Toni. She explained that she was going to be doing a ladies’ archery day and teaching women that had never used a bow before. It was a great experience and there were a lot of ladies that were new to the sport. It was a fun and empowering day. I became hooked.
After that, I decided to go and get my PAL and hunting license. I have been out for Turkey, but have yet to harvest one.
It has been fun and met some very awesome ladies through Heritage by Nature. I have been lucky enough to participate in 3 Ladies’ Archery Days as well as a day dog sledding. It has been a very educational, empowering, and fun experience.
